What you may not know is that with so much data that needs to be stored massive amounts of servers have to be installed. Now if you add up all of the power those servers require to run plus cooling you get a huge number that nobody knows. Of course people have tried to make guesses, but all of them turn out to be far lower then the actual amount. Sometimes you can even be using a server without even knowing it. (Viewing this web page) Unfortunately this huge draw of power is beginning to strain the world's power grid. Scientists believe that by 2015 electric companies will have to start building power plants and lines on the edges of many wilderness areas. This will pollute natural landscapes and make them ugly.
